Have you looked at the Age in Spain “Moving to Spain “ guide ? May also be of help****
I am just so pleased we moved out before brexit. ****
Oh yes, as part of a project I am doing. If the UK rejoined the EU, which Brexit benefit would you miss the most? ****

(on another local expat site recently) author: Hello everyone 🙂 I am Spanish but living in the UK. My parents in law want to retire in Spainand I was wondering if anyone knows what they need or if they can actually live in Spain. I am not sure due to Brexit and I was wondering if somebody else is on the process of getting residence, visa, etc. thank you for your help! Contact Maria at Help At Hand Spain. She helped us retire with residency here, knows her stuff and is very helpful **** I have a similar situation in that I live here, married to a Spaniard and we looked into it as an option for my parents (British). Are you planning to move back to Spain? If not, then an option of residency via you , I do not think is possible. In our case, we moved back, husband de registered from London consulate and I am here as a non- european family member of a European - which was pretty straight forward. I understand my parents could have done something similar via husband as long as they were in good health etc. If you’re not moving back, there could be other visas available to them like a non- lucrative visa or golden visa if they are willing to invest a fair chunk of money. I will post a link to a group that is very helpful in navigating post brexit situations! **** Have a look at this page. Very informative on what is required to move to Spain now. www.facebook.com/groups/4172728182/?ref=share **** Hi - it may be worth having a chat with Temple Cambria lawyers Bethan Trebilcock ****

(on another local expat site recently) author: Hi everyone, Does anyone knows the answer to the following question? To buy a house in Chiclana, once you have your NIE card and you're Tax resident, etc. Do you need a criminal record certificate to purchase a property? Thanks in advance!
No ****
author: they tell me that either the bank or notary will ask me for that document because my husband is English and doesn't belong to the EU, it's crazy the papers they ask for
Yes, if you’re a non-EU citizen and buying rustic property in Chiclana (and other areas considered to be strategic to the military) you need military approval, which includes a background check. I believe Temple Cambria can take care of it all for you for €900. ****
