(on another local expat site recently) author: This copied from another well respected Facebook Group:. This is an alert for dog owners: last week one of my dogs was very lethargic and wouldn't eat. I had purchased online one of the grey long-life flea and tick collars that come in a tin (I won't name the brand unless admin approve). The first thing I did was remove the collar, which resolved the issue. I have spoken to the manufacturer's technical services, and they confirm that this collar is in fact a counterfeit one, probably from China. There is no batch number etched on the collar that matches the one on the tin. The advice was to purchase from a vet or authorisd seller, and beware if the price is less than 30€. Having said that, my neighbour bought on from the largest online retailer for 35€. That too is a fake, and his dog was the same. Just be careful.
I am soon to purchase some of these Collars. Please can you tell us the name of the online company you purchased from, so as I can avoid. Thankyou. ****
author: As my post says - copied from elsewhere so I don't know. My dogs have a 3-monthly tablet from vet. Incredibly effective
I'm told you have to look for serial number on the collar itself ****

author: If you see a small pile of jelly balls like this in your garden - act immediately! Set them on fire ! Because there are hundreds of tick eggs inside it. which will hatch in a few weeks.
