author: Is there anybody on this site who has lived in Chiclana and has recently travelled back to the UK with a dog
who could give me some information of what is required. Many thanks




We travelled back in October. Ensured that the dogs rabies vaccination was valid and that he was wormed within 120 hours of entering UK.
At Santander, the dogs chip was read and checked against his passport and I assume they also checked the dates of his rabies vaccination.
When we reached Plymouth we weren’t asked to produce any documents for the dog and didn’t encounter any checks! ****

We travelled back with our two in October. Are you travelling back having been residents in Chiclana or are you starting your journey
in the UK? Depends on that due to Brexit. ****

author: yes residents in chiclana we are selling up and returning to the uk. ****

author: thank you, do you know if there any border checks for dogs I don't want anything going wrong when it happens in March/April next year.

We took a pup had passport and a chip all was very smooth but we took ferry from Santander I was so stressed as we had covid test etc & a pup !!!
But was very easy ****

author: I want to get a passport for my 2 dogs any ideas of a good vets and the time and cost it takes for this.
I am going back to uk in August and back again in a couple of months. I don't want to keep paying for these health check etc.



Does your dog not have microchip? In Spain you get the passport when you go to microchip de dog, then you will need to put the rabies
( wait 21 days If it's the first time getting it ) and deworm de dog between the day 1 to 5 ( when you cross the border ).
About prices, just go checks some vets around, but they may be more or less same prices for all that. Hope it helps ****
