author: has anyone any recent experience of malaga ore flight airport queues for check in and parking? I'm trying to get an idea of how early we need to get there..
We flew out of Malaga a week ago and didn’t have any queues or any issues with times. We were there 2 hours before departure and had bags of time to spare 👍🏼 ****
author: brilliant thanks ..we've had a few hairy moments there with long queues, hence the question .

I've just flown to the UK last sunday with no issues. I agree - you only need to be there 2 hrs before. ****

(on another local expat site recently) author: Be careful when flying in and out of Europe now since brexit. My collegue just had a Ryanair gate close on him and 21 other passengers at Malaga due to extended checking at Passport Control. The plane left with 21 people still waiting to board at the Gate 🤦 When travelling give extra time for passport control especially at Holiday Hotspots like Malaga
was a RyanAir gate that closed with 21 people lined up to the gate to board. The queue was passed passport control. It was just a thingy of a pilot. It took longer to get the bags off the plane then it did to allow these 21 people to board. Since Brexit UK passports need to be checked and stamped unless you have a TIE card so getting anywhere commercially takes that little bit longer. The pilots can just be ‘Richard’s’ because they did not get their leg over the night before. I always waited to the end of the queue when boarding a plane. This would have caught me out this time. Just a warning. Commercial air travel has changed since ‘Brexit’
People just don't leave enough time. They check in on-line and then expect to arrive just before boarding!! It clearly states 2 hours beforehand - more fool those that don't follow clear instructions ****
Weird. I flew Malaga to Cologne and there were no checks other than Ryanair checking boarding pass and passport tallied when I checked my case in. No police checks at either end going or returning. ****
it’s inside Shengen that’s why there’s not a problem travelling within Europe..my husband went from Jerez to Madrid then onto Frankfurt last week and said it was a piece of cake.. ****
If you think you are going to miss your flight, just go to the front of the queue. Nobody is there to help. I’ve seen it a few times. People don’t mind you pushing in when you explain. ****
the difference being that Cologn is inside the EU and the UK not. ****
