Nice in our almost €70 restaurant! *Maximum Spread*
Watch out for about 3 lads coming in a white Citroën Berlingo with license plate 5848****.
Yesterday, Saturday, November 19, 3 guys came to our Bubble Burguer restaurant in San Andrés Golf. Despite the cold and wind, they sat on the outside terrace (they thought they wouldn't get caught by security cameras) and ordered the most expensive thing on the menu and a bottle of wine.
When they finished eating they got up and ran to their car and disappeared. Although some customers tried to chase them, they eventually got away. There were about 15 witnesses who can easily identify them. Tomorrow I'm going to the guardia civil to file the report, unless they come today to pay and apologize (I doubt it). I know that these kinds of complaints are worthless, but someday they will have so many accumulated complaints, that yes, it will affect them.
More than anything I want to warn the other hostelers in Chiclana and Conil, to be aware.

(on another local expat site recently) author: This is to warn everyone that there were two armed robberies last night. One was in the petrol station on the Pelagatos on the Pago del Humo and the other was at the Coviran by the Florin. The suspects are driving an old white small Peugeot which doesn't have number plates. If anyone knows anything or sees this car then please notify the police.
Im struggling to find any further information online about these incidents do you have a web link or news outlet name that reported the story ? ****
author: no - it was a voice message I received last night by my neighbours wife in our Vecinos chatroom. It was then confirmed this morning by another source that the Coviran had also been robbed. ****
Omg the fact there armed , scary ****
author: I know. They held the gun to the head of one of my neighbours. She was petrified.
Even though these things are rare here it reminds us that times change. We get complacent here as generally crime is so low we don’t think about it. Be vigilant and safe peeps ****

I don't know if anyone else has had messages asking for a few Euros fee for a parcel delivery. I paid 2 euros as I was waiting for a parcel and immediately realised I'd been scammed.
I cancelled my debit card and within a few hours they tried to get another 20 euros then several more tries totaling 100 euros They are just after your card details you enter when you pay The page you pay on is like a correos or FedEx one, when you are on their sites nothing else works except where you pay. The messages came as a phone message so be very careful

(on another local expat site recently) author: N332Are you TRAVELLING TO SPAIN this summer?. Please be aware of the HIGHWAY ROBBERIES. "Highway robbers" often wait for their victims in the service areas and petrol stations alongside the motorways. Their targets are holidaymakers with foreign-registered vehicles or hire cars. They know they bring cash and valuables with them. The border with France and the ports of Santander and Bilbao are where they begin to act. Sometimes they wait in the surrounding area for their victims and follow them until they stop or force them to stop, pretending there is something wrong with your vehicle. In other cases, when the vehicle is stopped the thieves puncture one of its tires to trick their victims and steal their belongings. On this map, We show you the motorways where occur more most of the robberies; - AP 7 Mediterranean coast (between the French border and the Alicante provinces is a hotspot) TOP TIPS to avoid highway robbers ruining your holiday on the road: - Be wary of people flagging you down - If you have a problem with your vehicle, call your emergency breakdown service - Keep valuables out of sight and out of reach When you stop: -Park your vehicle in sight -Take your valuables with you -Watch out for tampering www.gov.uk/.../holidaymakers-warned-to-watch-out... (on another local expat site recently) author: Concerning Costa de la Luz/Chiclana (San Andres) Attention! Last night around 0:00 we made a "strange" observation. Three middle-aged men came towards us in San Andres/Chiclana in Calle Itallia. When we looked a bit critically, they asked about the rubbish place (they had 2 rubbish bags in their hands! - camouflage?). We pointed out the place and then they strolled there. They looked very carefully at every house on the right and left of the road. Was that a coincidence? Am I too suspicious? Who knows! BUT: Calle Italia was burgled a few weeks ago. Therefore, we should be vigilant!!! My fantasy was: the rubbish bags served as an alibi to scout out the street and its houses here! Where is the light, where does it look inhabited, which house is empty? Who takes out the rubbish at midnight in a street where he lives and then doesn't know where the rubbish bin is? It's all very strange! I don't want to raise suspicions, but I want to warn you! Turn on the outside lights, even if you are out in the evening. Show that you are "there" and spread this information. In retrospect, we should have approached the men: Where do you live...? We don't know you at all...! etc. Then they would have known: There are people paying attention! Let's hope I'm wrong!
I don’t think you are too suspicious. This is the time of year when burglars look for opportunities, also in rented houses with tourists in it, sleeping at night with open windows and their handbags on the table. By the time you wake up and realize something is wrong they are out already. You can download the App Alert Cops for a fast response by the police in case you need it. ****
Everyone should put Alert Cops on their phone. You never know. ****
Too dangerous to question them. Stay safe. ****
I worked in Sabanillas and about 3 years ago a gang of burglars would climb up drain pipes or find entry to properties. They drugged the inhabitants in their beds with some type of moistened cloth over their mouths. They had the cheek to eat food, smoke the clients cigarettes and just basically spend all night going through the belongings. They even lifted the pillow of a colleague and took her mobile as she was drugged. Apparently not much attention was paid until a police officer and his family were robbed the same way. Desperate criminals will do what ever they can do to gain entry. This friend lived on the 3rd floor overlooking a plaza. She had left her small Juliette balcony window open. When she woke up she had no recollection at all of what had happened. So lock your outside gates and be extra vigilant. ****

(on another local expat site recently) author: Spanish News TodayIt’s practically the sound of the summer: tourists and locals alike arguing over every square inch of sand on Spain’s packed beaches. The problem is escalating though, with beachgoers up and down the country claiming they can’t find space to sunbathe because others have marked out their territory at the crack of dawn with deckchairs, umbrellas and towels. But be warned: in towns where reserving a spot on the sand is banned, fines for breaking the rules can be as high as 3,000 euros. spanishnewstoday.com/umbrella-wars-fines-of-up-to-3000-euros-for-beach-hoggers-in-spain_2204307-a.html?#bottom_navigate
