author: Good morning 🌅any recommendations for a weekend hire car in chiclana 🤗
Liberty just down the road from Family Cash ****
Cheap options at this time of year. Commercial centre at Novo Sancti Petri has europcar and Avis. Usually find that rental for 3 or 4 days is not much more than 2 days price ****

author: Anybody know where or how i can rent a 7 seater car for one day ... Thanks
I’m not sure if it’s helpful or not, but we hired a 7 seater last month from Bruno’s car hire. It was pick up in La Linea though as we collected once landed in Gibraltar. ****
author: I asked Bruno's last week and they told me they didn't have one. Have you got a contact there
I have spoken to Linus and Paolo previously at Bruno’s. I hired a Dacia Lodgy. Fingers crossed you get something ****
We managed to do 2 years ago but only from the airport in Seville (Centauro cars) so for one day it's maybe a bit far. ****
I want one for 10 days in August but nothing available from any of the car hire companies ****

(on another local expat site recently) author: Hi, I am looking for some information. We are flying from the UK and have hired a car as we are staying in Conil. My husband is disabled and has a blue badge here in the UK. I am reading conflicting information online and wondered if anyone can tell me if his blue badge is valid in Andalusia?
Not valid. Yet another consequence of Brexit!! ****
No it isn't since brexit ****
Yet another "benefit" ****
No it isn’t. However, it would be a harsh parking attendant/police officer to enforce this. ****

(on another local expat site recently) author: As a follow up to a recent question about the validity of UK Blue Badge parking permits in Spain, there is this. www.dailyrecord.co.uk/.../blue-badge-in-eu... Blue Badge can be used by 2.5m people on holiday in these 30 countries this summerA Blue Badge provides essential parking accessibility for people with a disability or health condition. Millions of people across Great Britain with a disability, long-term illness or physical or mental health condition which affects their walking ability, hold a Blue Badge to help them or their designated driver park closer to the places they need to go. The most recent figures from 2021 show that there are 2.35 million Blue Badge holders south of the border and 235,779 in Scotland. The UK left the European Union (EU) on January 31, 2020 and is no longer part of the EU Disabled Parking Card scheme, however, many UK Blue Badge holders may be unaware that it can still be used when travelling in some EU countries, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland. The UK has informally agreed to continue the mutual recognition of the EU disabled parking card for visitors to the UK. Some EU and EEA countries have committed to reciprocate this gesture, but these agreements are not mandatory. Very good article, check at local police station! ****

(on another local expat site recently) author: Good morning All! We are moving to Chiclana in July (very excited!) and need to transport some of our belongings (about 8 cubic metres) from Alicante area. Any recommendations re domestic removals / vans etc gratefully received. Thankyou!
I’ve used a guy called Martin and can give you his number. ****
author: Thankyou, Would appreciate his number. I have already contacted Mat but he is busy with international removals.
Or do what we're doing and get a one way rental van from Enterprise, about a third of the price of a removal company up to Bilbao. ****

(on another local expat site recently) author: Good evening! We need to transport our classic Vespa from Medina Sidonia to the ITV in Puerto Real for a technical check to import it. As we took it of the road in the Netherlands (it still has Dutch number plates) we are not allowed to drive it here. Does anyone has a trailer or any other transport that we could use, borrow or rent? No rush, once I know how we can transport it we still need to arrange an appointment. Thanks!
If it's insured you can still drive it, you have six months to import it. Once you get to the itv center (first you go without vehicle and just paperwork, they will give you proof of it being processed to be imported) you can carry on using it and take it when they phone you with appointment for the inspection. Then tax office, and local town hall for more paperwork then DGT in cadiz , then you can get new number plates and change to Spanish insurance! Hope that makes sense !!! ****
author: thanks but it is not insured anymore as we took it off the road in the Netherlands and cannot insure it here until it has passed the test. We also had first other priorities so it is now more than 6 months since we moved here…
ok, you can find someone with a trailer or a van that should be able to help. I personally don't know anyone. Ross McCormack do you still have a van !? ****
ross is away at the mo. ****
