(on another local expat site recently) author: Just got back from holiday quess dogs aren't allowed on the beach now
No they're not unless you go to the dog beach section in San fernando I believe ****
Not in the summer we still have people who don’t pick up the dog poo so not fair for bare feet in the summer our dog loves the beach and we always have bags with us but think it’s the end of sept or October before their allowed on again ****
I did ask a cop about this. He said that there are no months in which a dog is allowed on a beach anywhere. HOWEVER, if you are sensible, and only go to beaches where there aren't many people, and keep your dog away from others, then there will be no problems. I got the clear impression from what he said that they have got better things to do than patrol deserted beaches on the off chance that there will be a dog walker there. Basically, steer clear of people, pick up after your dog ALWAYS and don't be antisocial and you should have no problems. ****
the Policeman was wrong. Every year the Ayuntamiento publish when dogs are allowed on the beach, during the winter months. Last year it was 15th October - 15th March. ****

Pets can walk along La Barrosa beach from today Owners will be able to come with their pets until March 15, 2024
Starting today, few will be surprised to see pets and owners enjoying a walk on the sand of La Barrosa beach. And, when Chiclana says goodbye to a summery October Long Weekend and with it also says goodbye to the season of greatest influx of bathers, the restriction on the presence of domestic animals on the coast ends. In this way, for another year , the Chiclana City Council extends the period allowed for users to go with their pets to La Barrosa. Specifically, the dates for this include from October 15 to March 15, 2014 , that is, two months more than what is included in the Municipal Beach Ordinance. That said, it is important to remember that this permit for the presence of domestic animals on La Barrosa beach must be done as stated in the Andalusian Law 11/2003 on the Protection of Animals and in the Municipal Environmental Protection Ordinance in the specific case of Chiclana.
In this way, all dogs must be on a leash and provided with the corresponding identification. And those weighing more than 20 kilograms must travel with a muzzle, a strong, non-extendable leash and driven by people of legal age. In addition, the owner, or whoever drives the animal, is obliged to collect the defecation. It is worth remembering that, recently, the municipal delegate of Beaches, Ana González, stated that “on our beaches, guide dogs are authorized by ordinances for people who need them, as well as rescue dogs. It also establishes the period of time in which domestic animals can be on the beach during the year, which we have expanded and which are Blue Flag requirements during the established bathing season."

Chiclana hopefully will have a dog beach next year ****
That would be brilliant ****
That would be great ****
It's a start but 150 metres isn't much. Better than nothing I suppose. At least we can legally take the dogs on the beach from October 15 to May 15 now ****

🟢 The Civil Guard rescues an abandoned raccoon at a Chiclana estate
📌 The animal was rescued by the Nature Protection Patrol of the Civil Guard of Chiclana on a property in the town and thanks to the collaboration of the citizens and will be moved to the Zoo de Castellar de la Frontera which will take care of its care and maintenance
The warning took place last the 19th around 9:30 in the morning when the Comprehensive Operational Center of the Civil Guard Command of Cadiz received warning from an anonymous citizen who reported the location of a raccoon in the bottoms of Cadiz a mobile home located on a farm in the said town of Chiclana.
Immediately activated the Nature Protection Patrol (PAPRONA) of Chiclana, who moved to the place. Once there they could verify that it was indeed a raccoon (Procyon Lotor) that would possibly have escaped from the interior of a home despite being forbidden to hold it because it was a non-indigenous species and considered an invasive.
Finally, and after checking his good health, the officers made arrangements for his later transfer to the Zoo de Castellar de la Frontera where they will take care of his care and maintenance. Citizens are informed from the Civil Guard that this type of animals are species from Central and North America, therefore, considered an invasive species and its possession as a pet is forbidden.
It should be remembered that within the Nature Protection Service is the Nature Protection Investigation Team that exercises specific judicial police functions in matters related to nature protection and environmental conservation.

(on another local expat site recently) author: Another question please!! Are dogs allowed on trains here if muzzled please? Specifically from Bahia Sur to Jerez or Seville? Thank you Spain's main train company, RENFE, allows small pets to travel with their owner, as long as they don't weigh more than 10 kg. On high-speed trains (AVE), long-distance and medium-distance trains and Avant, cats, dogs and ferrets must stay in small cages or dog carriers, whose maximum dimensions are 60x35x35 cm **** Dogs are allowed on Cercanias trains with a muzzle. We travel locally with ours often. www.renfe.com/.../cerc.../cercanias-cadiz/viajar-con For longer routes outside the Cercanias area, I only dogs under 10kg are allowed and they must be in crates. ****
