(on another local expat site recently) author: We’ve been absolutely infested with flying ants anyone having the same problem and if so what’s the best way to deal with this? Make sure it‘s ants and not termites. Call pest control for professional treatments/products to use, I can recommend **** Islaplagas in San Fernando www.islaplagas.com/salud-e-higiene-ambiental/diypestcontrol.com/diff.htm.... Enjoy the spectacle, they are amazing and we can’t live without them. Also a great food source for birds. Embrace it. It’ll be over in a couple of days. **** It's the time of year when they make the mating flight, just like they do in the UK. **** They normally only last a couple of days, horrible things ****

(on another local expat site recently) author: Wasp nest in roof of my shed how do i get rid of it? Will it scrape of ?
If there are no wasps in it, it will scrape off otherwise if live you need some spray from any Ferreteria which you can spray from a distance and kills them instantly. ****
We had one not as big so in the evening when they are dozzy I put a fishing net over the nest and sprayed it until they were all dead ****
You need to kill the wasps first or any attempt to get rid whilst they are active you’ll get stung a fair few times. Best to get some foam wasp spray from the ferretería in los gallos next to LHD and then spray them from a distance either early morning or late evening when less active: then scrape off in the morning when they’ve all gone. ****
