authhor Ants - any ideas how to get rid of them? This is the first year we have been inundated with them
We have never seen this many but luckily outdoors not in. xxxx
we have them indoors, there so tiny xxxx can’t even see them xxxx
we do get those tiny ones drop out the plug sockets xxxx
We use Compo spray in green bottle from Leroy merlin. Smells a bit like WD40 and repeated applications has had a big impact. Also we bought the Pest Reject electronic repellent sonic device for our kitchen. It sends sound waves into the walls that apparently ants don’t like. You just plug it into a socket. Again we’re noticing that the problem is hardly an issue this year. It also helps that we had our exterior walls repaired and painted so there’s less old cracks for them to explore xxxx
Me too , everywhere in the food cupboards , all over the house , we are trying the powder that they take back to there nests at the moment , see if that works xxxx
author Thanks ever so much guys for all your tips and advice

author: Hi quick question our villa in chiclana we suffer with lots of ants outside around the villa which i guess lots of people also have, do you know of anything or anyone who could look into this and try to find a solution, or has anybody had this issue also?
We have a lot more than we normally have, especially today. All outside luckily not in the house xxxx
This year has been a bad year for ants at our house, tiny little ones I found a spray in Mercadona which is meant to act as a barrier round doors or any access it helps a little but nothing cures the problem xxxx
It's an issue in hot weather generally - and also after heavy rains. They are attracted by the tiniest crumbs but particularly like sweet stuff and butter.. (so smear of honey, jam, butter etc on a floor or worktop will attract them) Also any dead insects etc will also attract them. They are nature's cleaner uppers.... once the food source has been removed by you or taken away to the nest by them, the ants leave. Some areas just have a lot of them.. where I live it seems to be one giant anthill and I'll have a week or so where they seem to be running in lines through the house but then for weeks there's none. But if you have lines of them going back and forth it's usually because they've found a food source somewhere in the house.. Nothing really keeps them away for ever. You can buy granules (from garden centres, DIY shops, ferreterias etc ) that they'll take back to the nest and that might slow them down. Personally, I don't think there's any real long term solution though... xxxx

author: Hi, can anyone please help. I believe I have an ants nest in one of my wall sockets. Can anyone recommend somebody to call out.
Sadly quite common! Goodness only know how the pesky blighters get where they do! xxxx
You don't need to call an exterminator. Go to your nearest garden center and buy the concentrated Ant Killer (the assistant will know) which you mix a cap full with water. Also at the garden center buy the Spray gun, put the solution in and spray the affected area. Isolate the socket in question and keep children and animals away from the area. This will be a much easier and cost effective way of dealing with the pests. I do quite frequently xxxx
Put ecogel is sold in hardware stores and they die as soon as they eat the product xxxx
Steve Harris (electrician) To be fair I would advise against spraying any liquids or gel into live electrical sockets. Please use a powder form of ant deterrent or any dry solution
author: Steve Harris will do thank you
