Renewing a UK Passport - while living in Spain




has anyone done this - this year?
did you do it yourself - thisyear?

is there anyone who currently provides this service? local to Chiclana


understand if applying on-line
2 identical digital photos required (this years photos) with CODE

understand if applying (paper)
2 identical paper photos required (this years potos)

Renew UK Passport 2022

1. went to UK Govt website & looked at info BEFORE applying.
2. went to photo shop (Chiclana) & asked for a digital photo.
3. cost 10e plus gave email address - digital photo emailed that day.
4. on Govt website followed instructions relevant to my application.
5. sent old passport by Certificado ''to be signed for'' via Coreos 12 July 2022.
6. collected new passport from my postal delivery address 8 August 2022.
(took 19 working days)

author: Following up from a previous post...... many thanks to everyone who offered help and advice on passport renewal.
Foto3 emailed a passport photo guaranteeing we got it right, online application done and old passport duly dispatched.
Plenty of updates from HM passport office!

New passport and old one delivered 13 days and 6 hours later!

author: Anyone know anything about passport renewal, just realised mine runs out in August
and wondering best way to do it as I’ve got a few trips planned over the coming months.
Can I still use the current passport whilst the new one is being processed and is it just a case of
renewing online and it gets sent out etc etc….thanks in advance.
Can probably find answers on Google but find this is much better than Google to be fair

Easy to do online but the UK PASSPORT office will require current one to be submitted prior to sending out the new one
(both will then be sent back to you). Service is very efficient with online tracking ****

Renewing a UK Passport


We dhl'd the old passport to the UK office, not cheap but very fast ****

We also had photo taken and emailed to insert on the form, guaranteeing acceptance Process was extremely quick ****

If you apply too early and you have more than ten years on your passport you will run into problems. Google.
Conversely if you don't have three months left some countries won't allow you in. Check each country individually.
If your new passport doesn't arrive and you need to travel, you can get an emergency travel document but you have to go to Málaga.
They were very helpful when I was stuck in Spain over lockdown and my passport expired. It's a single use document, was £100 then.
Fortunately my new one showed up. If you can't receive post get it sent to someone who can as it will need to be signed for.
I used DHL to return my passport. Make sure you use the correct online application.****
