Anyone any ideas?
Amazon ES
16 March I ordered a small household item (can't buy locally)
16 March I received email from Amazon es 'Item Sent'
17 March I received email from Amazon es 'Item Cannot Be Delivered - Cancelled & Refund in 5-7 Business Days
I then looked at 'Locate Your Order' on Amazon es to see what had caused this:
17 March reached Madrid 3pm Delay in Delivery - Due To Weather or Natural Disaster I'd bought this item 3wks earlier (same supplier) not in Amazon box so contents could be seen
It's a mystery to me

We had a similar experience with an Amazon es order last year. Received an email 'Item Sent' and even got as far as 'Out for Delivery', but item was not delivered on the due date. 'Locate your Order' stated that delivery would be attempted again the following day. Still not delivered. 'Locate your Order' then showed an 'Item cannot be delivered' message. We contacted Amazon Customer Services, who couldn't understand why the item hadn't been delivered as the delivery address remained the same as it had been for many years. Eventually, after much to-ing & fro-ing between us, Amazon Customer Services, and the Courier, it transpired that the Courier would not deliver to mail box addresses! Amazon apologised and sent a replacement of our order via a different Courier, which we received without problem. We requested that Amazon never used the other Courier for our future orders. Might be worth checking which Courier Amazon was using for your order?

P. Doff thanks for reply + detailed info ref your own order - will try to find out - if it was the courier that wouldn't deliver. Just checked & this same courier (Correos Express) delivered same item 10/3/22 to same address NOT in Amazon packing - so contents could be seen.

That's very strange. We've never had problems with Correos Express and Amazon es orders (so far!). Whilst on delivery subject, several yrs ago we had a problem with an Electrolux/AEG order. Wouldn't let us order from UK as they have a Spanish website. Ordered the item from ES website - not delivered. Kept contacting them but got nowhere. They just ignored our emails. Took ages to find out they wouldn't deliver to mail box addresses. Nothing on their website to advise this! We requested a refund, which we eventually received - minus 1 centimo. We were so furious at their attitude we emailed the CEO complaining. Also asked if that was how they accumulated their profits. A few days later we received a phone call (in English) from a very apologetic official at their Madrid office, followed shortly after by a large box being delivered to our mail box address (don't know how it was delivered) full of Electrolux/AEG items with an accompanying letter of apology - and a nice shiny new 1 centimo sellotaped to the bottom of the page. Worth bearing in mind - you tend not to get messed around if you go straight to the top. Hope this gives you a bit of a chuckle, and that you get your problem sorted (for peace of mind if nothing else). Best wishes :-)

Hi P.Doff thanks for that input. Have just read (Diario de Cadiz) that there's been a transport strike since March 12. Think this may have had something to do with my 'non delivery'

Yes, could be the cause. The transport strike is starting to make an impact. We're expecting delivery of a new chest freezer tomorrow - keeping fingers crossed. Have recently found an online company that can supply back bacon & gammon joints/pork with crackling/pies & pasties/black forest gateau/Roddicks clotted cream - in fact all the naughty goodies that we've missed for so long - and now we dare not order anything to put in our new freezer (when/if it arrives) because of the strike!**@@**!

P. Doff hope you got your freezer? as this morning I went to collect our usual post & the parcel was there! When I queried '' thought there was a transport strike? '' reply was '' some couriers are working '' Amazon ES site still shows ''Undelivered & Refund will be made '' Expect this will be updated where/when to show Delivery was made.

So pleased that your parcel arrived. Better late than never! Wish we could say the same about our freezer - don't know what's happening with that, and don't even know where it is. Can't get any info from Media Markt 'cos much of their online "help" bits are greyed out. Suppose we'll just have to keep checking their "where's my order" tab in the hope that something will come up soon. If we could find out if the freezer's near Cadiz we could hitch the trailer to the car and pick it up, but it could be anywhere as it was a Media Markt Online order. Knowing our luck we'll eventually get the freezer, but the online company with all the goodies will be out of stock!
