read these replies today on another local expat site - answering an enquiry about sending from uk to Chiclana
1. Careful as you will taxed or import duty on arrival in Spain for anything coming from UK now. Just had to pay ten euros on a parcel worth only slightly more than that! 2. Be careful what you send. I had to pay 23 euros on a parcel valued at 15 pounds and at the moment am having a problem with customs because xxxx has sent a parcel which has chocolates in it and the milk in the chocolate is classed as an animal product.
3. I just had a small gift from UK and had to pay tax on it when it arrived its best to have gifts sent through Amazon
4. Send via amazon.es

So many Brexit bonuses, and the new year will mean UK driving licences not valid if your a resident. Glad leave voters knew exactly what they voted for.

Hola,
It is a timely warning that some people need to know - knowledge is King and to know your driving licence is invalid and you WILL have to take a Spanish driving test is important to many people.

No sorry, the only people allowed to do a straight swap must have registered thier intent to swap with trafico before the end of Dec 2020. Anyone gaining residency this year have 6 months grace period to pass a Spanish driving test from the date of their residency. This has always been the rule for all 3rd country citizens.

El Pais newspaper has falsely printed a story saying British license holders who are resident in Spain would be fined 6000 euros from the 1st Jan22. N332 has issued this clarification: Clarification!!! This is information published in the newspaper "El EspaƱol" is not correct; Since the 1st January, those RESIDENTS in Spain with a British licence will not be fined with a 6000 euros ticket. If there is not another extension, drivers will get a 500 euros fined (250e if it is paid within 20days after getting it.) Without an exchange agreement signed between both countries, those British citizens who wish to get a Spanish licence, will have to sign up to a Spanish driving school and take the theorical and practical exam. The first one can be done in English language. News; www.elespanol.com/.../dgt-dos.../634436807_0.htmlI sincerly hope no one will be affected by the change.
