ELECTRICITY RATES

Fo those of use on Endesa dual tarrifs (peak and offpeak) my understanding is that we will now have three bands as follows:

Low - 0001 - 0800 hours
Mid - 0800 - 1000, 1400 - 1800 and 2200 - 2359 hours
High - 1000 - 1400 and 1800 - 2200 hours

It remains to be seen what this will do to the average electricity bill as it will depend on the rate for each period but it will obviously make sense to run things like washing machines, dish washers, pool cleaners etc at night.

Is my understanding correct? I have had no notification from Endesa (yet !)

My monthly bill (real not estimate) is normally taken by Direct Debit, once during the 1st week.

More interesting to me is the rate for each period - mine is

P1 0.133118€ per Kwh (13 cents per hour)
P2 0.041772€ per Kwh (4 cents per hour)
p3 0.006001€ per Kwh (half a cent per hour)

I now have had two bills; one for 16-82€ and the other for 42-33€. I had contemplated whether it would be feasible to use a system of batteries to supply electricity to the house and only charging up at the lowest rate. However as the cost of the electricity supplied is so low, it would take too long to get any pay back.

Have now had 12 August bill, taken by Direct Debit. Twice the amount for Aug 2020. Considering how many appliances/how much electric we use - think it's still very good value.

Oct 2021 was 12 euros more than Sept 2021
we have 'tried' to observe the cheaper times

However
This Oct bill is 22 euros less than last Oct 2020
All things considered still think for us it's very good value
