Lots of talk going on at the moment (other ex-pat sites) re: Spanish bank charges.



Here at Banca March, Novo Sancti Petri, Chiclana
Removed a Direct Debit payment from a/c - few years ago, & used another bank a/c to pay IBI
(as Banca March were not on approved list for processing IBI payments)

Still have other direct debits payments made, also card transactions at supermarkets & shops

On-line statements show
pension paid into account each month


25/06/2019 A/C Interest Charges: €37.00
25/12/2019 A/C Interest Charges: €50.80

Total charges for the year = €87.80


25/06/2020 A/C Interest Charges: €50.00
25/12/2020 A/C Interest Charges: €61.60

Total charges for the year = €111.60

I'm with Deutsche bank and have not had any charges - yet - they used to have a branch in Novo Santi Petri but now only in Cadiz, Calle Ancha

Each choose a bank for what/why & where for our own needs/requirements.

Personally Banca March has local branch at NSP - few mins drive from home



Recently sent email: referring to personal account

Reply rec'd: not possible by email (a/c security)



Easily drove to branch & parked for free (this time of the year)

2mins walk to bank, signed 'authorization' + came away with paperwork.
