(we know that local markets, shops & supermarkets all sell spices)
In my cupboard: there's a variety of small jars & containers for different herbs/spices.
Some have lids that partly flip up to open - then down to close (but don't fully close)
Others have various sized holes to tip a little or more out (if they haven't dried up)
Not easy when recipe is 3 for teaspoons, some powder comes out then other times clumps.
Decided to see what else there is available (didn't want loose qty from shop or market)
Recently found on Amazon.es (Spain) while browsing had gt on (google translate)
Looked v carefully: the spanish names for each spice, not so easy to identify
Screw-top jar 170g ground Cumin 5.10e (cominos)
Screw-top jar 180g ground turmeric 5.35e (curcuma)
Screw-top jar 180g ground ginger 5.55e (jengibre)
Total price 16.00e
Prime delivery Free
Paid using local bank card so total = 16.00e
Arrived 5 days later to my surprise what looked like glass jars - were in fact plastic.
Easy to wipe over & no holes to get clogged up. Recycle or re-use when finished with.
Each screw-top lid had it's own paper-seal: so you could tell it had not been opened.
Inside the contents were filled to the top.
Easy to access using a teaspoon so no mess.
Existing spices in cupboard: locally-bought jars 40g, Morrisons jars 12g jar.
They may not have cost much: 2/3euros locally or 1/2 £'s Morrisons Gibraltar.
However the qty is not much either.
Happy New Year!
