I wonder if you can help me

I went to the bank today and the teller asked me to provide a new residentia card and proof of pensions.

My old card ran out about 4-5 years
back

I presume it's go to the police station in Chiclana with my old card , passport and a few shekels to pay .

Do I need any other information

Do I need a new photo or do they do it there?


and finally Dave how long is it until they issue the card

Banks have a duty to keep their information up to date so in normal times, a reasonable request, but in COVID-19 state of emergency, I am surprised.

Your residencia card is green credit card sized? To renew that means changing to a TIE; JA, the ChiFRA solicitor is in contact with the British Consulate over the lack of appointments available to obtain the TIE because of Brexit.

Yes you will need a photo but take a spare “just in case” along with all documents and photocopies.

I believe currently the turnaround is around three weeks but no guarantees

I think if your old card has expired then your residencia would have been temporary, for the first 5 yrs, and should have been renewed to a permanent residencia on the date stated on your temporary residencia card. There are many people here in your posistion and the extranjero depts all over spain are being unindated with brits trying to gain legal residencia . Because you have let your residencia lapse your first step is to apply using form EX20 and show proof of private health insurance plus an average bank balance of 6k in a spanish bank or proof of income from pension etc. If you are approved then you can apply for a TIE with form EX23 sounds simple but getting appointments this late in the game is proving to be very difficult so dont delay.
