If you are resident in Spain, then you need to change your driving licence before 31st December 2020 OR face having to take a driving test in the Spanish language in 2021 i.e. after Brexit.
I have just spoken to JA, the ChiFRA solicitor; he has been trying to get appointments for people to change their driving licences and has had to have a meeting with the DGT (Director General Trafico) to ascertain what the problem was.
Normally to exchange your British licence for a Spanish licence, you would ask for canje; now they are saying that there are only one or two appointments a day for “canje”, they suggest you ask for “Conductores” which is drivers.
However, the DGT suggested that it would be better to have a group that want to change their licences rather than individuals. Therefore, if you need to change your British licence to a Spanish one, please contact JA info@templecambria.com or Phone: 956 44 01 72 and he will organise it so you can complete the process with the minimum stress.

Hola
An update on costs for ChiFRA members;
For members of Chifra we offer a flat rate of 60 euros + VAT (21%) per driving licence as we will probably need to visit the place in Cadiz at least twice, meet clients to get authorisations signed, keep people up-to-date, give advice, etc.
