We are presently due to travel, by ferry, back to the UK on the 17th, does anybody know whether the drive to Santander is permissible at the moment?

Hola
I believe that you can travel "home" at the moment. However you may need to be able to prove where "home" is. One piece of advice; if you do travel to the UK then take paperwork from here if you wish to return here. You will need your green residencia at the very minimum but I would also take your NIE and Padron

Sounds like as you are coming from a spanish port you may have to self isolate for 14 days.

Whilst initially Boris indicated that the quarantine rules applied to air travel, he later clarified that it would apply to ALL arrivals in UK including ferries and trains. However this has not yet been implemented, but is likely to be effective from a date to be announced towards the end of May, so you may just escape it Elalmendro.

According to the BBC this morning, it is only travellers from Eire and France that will not have to self isolate, all other arrivals to the UK will have to, be it by air or sea.

The information we have is that it applies to all entry points including ferries and the tunnel but does not apply to lorry drivers or other commercial persons making a delivery
