(on another local expat site recently) author:Hi me my husband and 3 kids rented a house in chiclana and now the landlord is evicting us because they have decided they want to live here! Does anyone know of any 3 or 4 beds to rent we have a budget of around €850 we both have work contracts and a income from a buisness in England , thanks Try idealista but you'll be hard pushed to find anything for all year round - most are October to May but you might get lucky. www.idealista.com/.../chiclana-de-la.../mapa **** Also maybe someone in this group has something that could work for you? facebook.com/groups/3732323250186319/ **** author: Thanks I’ve just joined it , think I’m going to move back to Murcia there’s no houses here and it’s so expensive do you have a contract signed? As per Spanish law he can’t evict you and you have rights to live there fora minimum of five years. For him to evict you there would need to be a clause in the contract that says so, and even so he’d need to prove that he really needs the house. Even if all is written and proven, he can’t evict you until the end of the natural year since it was signed. Ie if you signed in march, you have until February next year… ****

Have you found anything yet? Got a 4 bed flat that might suit you. Available mid-nov till may. Drop me a pm ****
author: not interested in short term , sick of moving thanks though
no problem. Just thought I’d check if you needed something to tide you over till you found something else the problem with long term rentals is people are afraid of over-stayers who end up not paying after the first year. Not sure if this is just in andalucia or all over Spain. From what I understand from property agents, there’s some loophole in the law that allows tenants to stop paying rent after the first year, and they can’t be kicked out easily (Upto 5 years if kids are involved). On top of that, chiclana has a seasonal problem with summer tourists and them paying silly prices for the “premium 8 weeks”. ****

(on another local expat site recently) author: Long shot I know. I have a friend who is looking to rent a house in chiclana long term. Min 3 beds and can pay a years rent in advance.
If your friend wants to consider a flat, I’ve got a 4 bed flat near the town centre for 750/mo. Also got a 2 bed house with pool, fully furnished. if they’re absolutely stuck and can can make do with a 2 bed temporarily while they find a better option, they can have that on a short term let ****
author: thanks will let them know
