Anyone know where I can get some decent ground coffee please? I'm getting so that I can't stand the usual ground coffee here.

Try "La Estacion De Te" in Augustin Blazquez ( It's just past the entrance to Santa Anna Church). They have quite a good selection and you can always try a cup before you buy.

Jeez, Chillifreak, you have extremely exacting standards - try getting a half way decent coffee in the UK - its all Latte, Splatte, Farte and mega bucks for the privilege for a cup of weak tastless frothy xxx.
ANY coffee served in Spain is heaven!

ANY coffee served in Spain is heaven! Nope. I have been stuck in the UK for the past 3 months, and the one redeeming feature is that most supermarkets sell quite decent ground coffee. Comig back was a culture shock as what we had been drinking resembles something unmentionable strained thru old, soiled underwear.

Yes Chillifreak. The top entrance to the park on one side of the road and the entrance to the church on the other.

Look for the Bonka Columbian ground coffee in Eroski and use a rounded soup spoon per cup in your coffee maker (we use a filter drip). Of course, "good coffee" is so subjective and I speak only for myself and the delicious flavour from the Bonka.

As Pam says it does depend on what type of coffee you like. I like mine strong but not ”muddy”. The best I have found is the Marcilla brand Gran Aroma, Extra Fuerte. Eroski sell this and have a good selection of other brands too. Their decaf is ok as well.

Ah, I didn't realise you were talking about buying ground coffee to make....although I use Marcilla (gold pack) and find it OK but in UK no ground coffee tastes anything like coffee but it could be the water here.

Very subjective but I like Catunambu 'Mezcla' coffee sold in Carrefour and Lavazza too!

Hi Chillifreak, Just wondering if you ever got round to trying the Estacion De Te and if so what was the verdict.
