Just bumping my original post without the clutter/see also on "Socialising" Page
Are there any widows/widowers/older singles in the Chiclana/Conil/San Fernando areas who would be interested in socialising, ... but don't quite know where to start, perhaps because they are no longer part of a couple?

I'm not talking about dating, there are dedicated websites for that, just friendship between 'happy to be singles'.
I suspect also, that men can be at a bit of a loss regarding socialising once a partner is lost, as the ladies tend to organise the social side of life.
From the one response to my original post, I have made a new friend though we have yet to meet in person, and through her another friend, but it would be good to hear from a few more people - I'm sure you are out there!
Its possible that those I'm trying to reach are lonely partly because they don't use social media and therefore are unaware that there are others in the same position, so if you know of anyone who might be interested, please let them know what I'm trying to do? I can be pm'd on here for contact details.
Here in England I am in a group of widows/widowers and we meet for coffee once a week, on a different day each time so everyone can be available at least once a month. There are about 15 of us but usually only about 6-8, sometimes less, are present at the meet ups. We use the same coffee venue and have a Facebook page and from that new closer friendships have been forged as common interests are discovered - we are a very mixed bunch but it works.
