Out of interest, are there any widows/widowers or just single people in the Chiclana/Conil/San Fernando areas who would be interested in socialising, helping each other with day to day living activities, i.e. lady who can sew, cook etc./gentleman who can do a bit of DIY, or simply people who would like to get out a bit more and be sociable but who don't know quite where to start?
I'm not talking about romance, there are websites for that, just friendship and mutual help is my idea because I know there are people who are happy to be single (like me) and have friends of their own gender, but at the same time would enjoy the occasional company of someone of the opposite sex for a different perspective on things.
Any comments?

Maybe it's not sexist! Just a generational thing.

Maybe. but we weren't all made the same, so perhaps a little tolerance would be appropriate.

Have I missed a post, which has since been taken down? For goodness sake I was only generalising about male/female abilities. I'm too old to be fussing about being PC but maybe I should have put it this way. An exchange of abilities, i.e. cooking, sewing, DIY etc.......There I hope I've satisfied everyone.
A few replies from interested people might be nice instead of nit picking.

Any comments? Hola Yes it is nice to know someone is not going to "hit on you" but simply view you as a friend; I nearly said something which was gender related but changed the words to be more PC as in "same sex couples" LOL. But it is true; people of my age were brought up in a gender based society. Men went to work and women stayed at home in the vast majority of cases. Today's world may be different but for us old 'uns we just needs a few friends. There was a group named after its initials "Single Lonely Old Gits" but I think it disappeared some while ago. So if anyone is interested in a coffee etc. - why not send a pm to Floriana? Davexf

To answer your question Floriana, yes someone did post a comment about your original post being "sexist", but it has since been removed.

I saw the now deleted post and wondered, at the time, why anyone would want to put a spanner in the works. The original, post is perfectly reasonable and a great idea. If people have nothing better to do than try and find a sexist/PC argument against anything that is posted in all innocence then it is a sad world, in my opinion.
