You mention the cards are for charity.can you tell me if this is only the individual Xmas cards or if it's the full packs and also greeting cards as well. Just checking if they are all for charity or personnel gain. Thanks

All Christmas cards are 100% sale in aid of Muscular Dystrophy UK .
All greetings cards are also to be sold in aid of Muscular Dystrophy UK - to be transparent, that means no personal gain.

I have been told none of them are, apart from Katie's stall which is in aid of Muscular Dystrophy.

I also understood only Katies stall is in aid of charity now, I used to have a stall at Venta Luna which was in aid of dog charities.

I dont think it is actually advertised as a charity market, i think folks maybe just assume it is.

After reading the post and before donating I checked the charity number just to make sure and I can't find it registered anywhere? Seems strange that it isn't registered and also that the original poster is no longer a member??

I support 3/4 charities here and the Uk and it would be a shame to see if the "cards for charity" isn't actually what it say on the tin?

JackC that's fine on one hand and totally understand if it's a genuine mistake, but lots of people asking and not many have the balls to ask the question....

Instead of people keep wondering it's easier to just say it out in front of everyone and then everyone knows and chiclana whispers stop!

I think Katie's (Pippin) reply of 25th November made it PERFECTLY CLEAR when she said all Christmas card sales are 100% in aid of Muscular Dystrophy with no personal gain, her only mistake was a typing error where she typed one digit of the charity number incorrectly. I have purchased some cards from her and can assure you they are genuine with the correct charity number on the back of them. Maybe if some of those "Chiclana Whisperers" had put their hands in their pockets and bought some cards they'd be aware of that - or better still, if they put their excess energy into helping others/charities they'd have none left for whispering or should I say stirring!!

Well said Denise, Katie is the only stall at venta luna who is raising funds for charity, everyone else is selling there wears for personal gain which is fine, if people thought the whole market was a charity event then as far as i am aware at no time was it advertised as such.

The dog charity furever friends holds a carboot sale every sunday at Campana ALL proceeds to the dogs.

I believe that pippin may have personal reasons for doing so much for this charity and that she will find this comment deeply offensive. If you checked the charity number then you must have realised that there was a typo. Sometimes it is better to think before you act and cast aspersions. There is NO DOUBT that she is genuine.

I think what you have missed in your "assumption" that I am
Out to cause harm is that fact that there are few people
Here that run legitimate businesses and therefore everyone has to earn a living but at the same time pay into the system wether it be charitable or not and, weather it be by selling cards, cleaning a pool or building somebody's house. I think the point being made is weather it be for charity or not, bearing in mind that Not "everything" you see for charity is actually for charity, that's from the horses mouth not mine, then you realize where the confusion lies......

We all know Katie is a genuine person who does all she can to help the muscular dystrophy society. People were asking wether the other stalls are for charity, which they give that impression. Easy solution if you are a charity stall put up a notice on each stall and name the charity.

As I have worked for said person in the past and have also helped in bringing things over from the UK before I am in no doubt that said person indeed has this charity deep in her heart.


Lets get one thing right, if you are a legit business or want to run a legit business then go and pay your taxes like we all have to.

This is the botom line.

I believe in honesty at all times and this is not really my fight but listening to things over and over you must understand that some of us here work bloody hard to make a legitimate living and so we like to play by the book.

I think Ross that you should start another thread.....ILLEGAL BUSINESSES AND NON PAYMENT OF TAXES.....this thread is all about an individual selling Christmas cards in aid of a UK registered charity,
how we go from that to illegal businesses i have no idea.

As I have said previously, if it is all for charity as suggested by many on here then I wish the lady every success with her venture and chosen charity of choice.

Also, as others know I do donate to various charities myself so I am all for people doing it for the right reasons wherever it be dogs, cats, cancer or your chosen charity.......

That's alright then, isn't it, all forgotten and no damage done. Except, of course, for all the hurt and upset you have caused to Katie.

All you had to do, especially as you say you know Katie, was to ask her in person rather than casting aspersions on a public forum. Those of us who know Katie will continue supporting her in every way we can but you, Antinibosa and Buttercup have done yourselves no favours. I am sure you would be upset and angry if someone slagged off your work and questioned whether you paid all your taxes. Which, incidentally, had nothing at all to do with the original post.

I hope you all are feeling suitably ashamed of yourselves.
