We have today received our latest Endesa electricity bill which contains a two page announcement headed:

BOLETIN OFICIAL DEL ESTADO
NOTA INFORMATIVA, SEGUN LO ESTABLECIDO EN EL REAL DECRETO 897/2017, DE 6 DE OCTUBRE
Articulo 3. Definicion de consumidor vulnerable

My Spanish is not up to understanding what it is about but imagine it is being sent out to all customers. Can anyone (Dave?) please advise what it is about? Many thanks.

I think from the very small amount that you've told me that this is a notification that if you are a vulnerable person as defined under the regulation mention (Decreto 897/2017) that if you inform them of such then there are different rules to be applied before they can cut you off.

I seem to remember reading something about this a while ago; there are families that can't pay their bills and they are in a protected state so they don't get cut off for non payment.

But as in all these things, someone has to be first and I've not received an electricity bill with this notification in so when and if I do get such a bill, then I should have the necessary knowledge to let people know

Thanks Dave. As our charges are direct debit to the bank with nothing outstanding, hopefully we have nothing to worry about, but TIS!
