author: Hi there, myself and **** are looking to move to the area next year. We've heard about but not yet experienced the rain and floods the area can get, and I wondered if anyone could tell me about the area in between Cadiz Boyal and camino del picadero. And if anyone has experienced flooding issues here? Thank you.
The last time it flooded badly there was 2012 and it was pretty horrendous. Since then there have been improvements made on the roads but the water levels are still higher than most in this area - partly due to it being the last road down from Casa Blas and you are on a gradient and partly due to the large canada at the bottom of Cadiz Boyal which has been known to overflow. ****
Your question could not have come at a more appropriate time ****
Great time to ask good luck with the move ****
it is raining a lot at the moment, I have to go that way tomorrow and will check it out for you. I myself have a house in La Espartosa that is high up, much more central and never any problems. ps will be for sale soon ****
Rodeo used to get flooding ****

nothing to worry about, this morning there was a lot of water on Rodeo but everything was easily accessibl ****
author: that's great. Thank you for tlaing the time to look and let me know
Camino del Picadero is in the flood plain and that area has been flooded three times to my knowledge, Christmas 2009 to March 2010 being the worst but 2012 and 2016 also ****

As I understand it, its not just rainwater flooding that is a concern on flood plains, water comes up in winter and floods cesspits and septic tanks so they need emptying all the time and if you are unlucky that water can be salty which renders well/bore hole water supply useless. Please correct me if I am wrong people? ****
