(on another local expat site recently) author: N332 N332 & CAR REGISTRATIONS SPAIN 🇪🇸 🇬🇧 ⛔ - LOW EMISSION ZONES - ZBE's Today we will tell you about new low emissions zones that are being introduced across 147 towns and cities and how to obtain one of the new emissions stickers for your vehicle. ⭕ ZBE - ZONAS DE BAJO EMISIONES Although already operating in the major cities of Madrid, Barcelona and Seville, new ZBE - Zonas de Baja Emisiones (low emissions zones) are starting to be rolled out from 1st Jan 2023 which will affect most drivers who live in or wish to drive into towns with a population of more than 50,000 residents. These zones will be controlled by means of circular windscreen stickers with a 200 euro fine for people who don't obey the new rules. There are 4 categories available to cars and light vans as follows: 🔵 0 - BLUE - NO RESTRICTION This category includes: Battery powered electric vehicles, extended range electric vehicles, plug in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV) with an autonomous range of 40km or more, LPG vehicles and other gas powered vehicles. 🔵/🟢ECO - GREEN / BLUE - SOME RESTRICTIONS This category includes: non plug-in hybrids, hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV’s) with an autonomous range of less than 40 kms. There will be some restrictions to this type of vehicle, which will be determined by individual town halls. 🟢 C - GREEN - RESTRICTIONS This covers petrol cars & light vans registered from 2006 onwards and diesel vehicles registered from 2014 onwards. Generally speaking category C vehicles cannot enter Low Emission Zones, although rules are implemented on a town by town basis so for example in Madrid, C category vehicles are allowed to enter some ZBE's to go to a car park. 🟡 B - YELLOW - NOT PERMITTED TO ENTER ZBE's Petrol vehicles registered after January 2000 or diesel vehicles from 2006 to 2014 will be restricted from entering Low Emissions Zones. ❌ A - NO STICKER AVAILABLE - NOT PERMITTED According to estimates, approximately 32% of cars & light vans will not be able to enter ZBE's due to the fact that they are too old to meet the strict emissions requirements and consequently do not qualify for a sticker. 🚘 FOREIGN VEHICLES There is currently no scheme in place for foreign vehicles to obtain a DGT Environmental Sticker, but some foreign vehicles may be eligible to enter Spanish ZBE’s if they have similar accreditation and an emissions sticker in their country of current registration. At the time of writing only. At the time of writing only Austria, France, Denmark & German stickers are automatically accepted. More info here: / 🇪🇺 DOES MY VEHICLE QUALIFY? As a guide all electric, hybrid and gas powered vehicles, and petrol cars and light commercials that are EURO 4,5 or 6 along with diesel vehicles that are EURO 6 qualify for the environmental sticker. You can check which sticker is a available for your vehicle here on the DGT website: sede.dgt.gob.es/es/vehiculos/distintivo-ambiental ✅ HOW TO OBTAIN AN EMISSIONS STICKER You can obtain one of the new emissions stickers from local gestoría or online via the Correos website but the easiest method is probably at a main Correos office. Don’t worry if you don’t speak Spanish, just print off and fill out the attached form to take with you. You can also download it here: www.car-registrations-spain.com/.../ZBE-stickers.pdfCar Registrations Spain S.L. is the leading vehicle registration service of pre-registered foreign vehicles in Spain. The music events at St Patricks Tavern. It depends if looking for a formal invite to take photos or just places where can get interesting shots. I definitely recommend Montenmedio, the carriage racing is the best and you can get close to the action. ****
the horse and carriages were my favourites to photograph and its free to get in to see this wonderful spectacle. Not many things you can say that about! ****
The football maybe? ****
pop along and have a word in the secretaries office before the games then would be allowed - there are plenty of us amateur photographers out there taking photos so am sure it would be fine. Get in touch maybe with Chiclana CF through messenger on their FB page There are over 20 youth teams in Chiclana alone so I'm sure they'd welcome someone to take photos ****

author: Hello. I know this won't concern the majority here, but some it could: My parents in law recently sold their property in Chiclana and were paid by Spanish bank draft. Their bank (Caja Rural) was going to charge them 1800€ to transfer the funds into their French bank (euro zone)!! Having contacted the French bank to see if & how much they would charge to accept the cheque directly in France, they replied yes, charge 200€ !! Amazing !!
Juan Antonio Rodríguez García This is not the only problem. A Spanish banker’s draft takes normally around 1 month to clear if you cash it in in a bank abroad… As it has been suggested you should use a UK money broker to clear the banker’s draft but you need to find one with offices in Spain so they can meet you and collect the banker’s draft. Regards and good luck!
Bcause Spanish banks are thieves. Money transfers from France to Spain cost 0€ French side, but Spain will still charge the money coming in. So if vice-versa Spanish banks will not miss an opportunity to charge a horrendous amount for money going out. ****
Yes, when we used to send money to spain we only ever paid £20 BUT good old banca march used to charge stupid fees to receive it on top of the extortionate quarterly charges ****
Bank are not for their clients just monymakers ****
author: Euro zone transfers are not free from Spain. Normally to pay a cheque issued in one country to another there is a cost - even Europe doesn't control that one - therefore in this case much better to take the cheque to the foreign (euro) bank than just do a transfer from here in this case as it works out much cheaper. My parents in law are French residents so so no exchange rate. They are over 85 so don't use internet for banking or anything. For such an amount (housesale) must go through bank transfer or bank draft.

author: Hi everyone I know the tram has been built but I haven’t tried it yet! We usually drive from Seville airport to our home in Chiclana but I was wondering how much the tram was from Sevilla airport to Chiclana. We would then get a taxi to our home as we are in Rana Verde, but wondering if this is better and cheaper than driving? Please let me know, thankyou in advance
The tram only runs between Chiclana & Cadiz. As said there's a bus between airport and train station (4€p/p) then train to San Fernando is from about 16€. Afterwards taxi or bus to Chiclana. ****
Careful with the trains, its difficult as now most are very booked Up in advance ****
