author Hello all. Is it true that British Banks must close your British bank accounts if you live in EEA? Have just received a letter about this from mine.
I believe Barclays have started the process but most are still OK....( at the moment) xxxx
Not all banks . Any problems Wise is a good company to use . xxxx
author Thanks.
Barclays notified us 3 months ago because we were using our local address. All you need to do is give them a UK address and all is good! xxxx

Hola
At the time of Brexit, several banks took the view that they didn't want to follow the EU rules and register as a bank. The outcome of this is that they cannot legally offer banking services to anyone living permanently in the EU

We're with NatWest. Spanish address and everything is continuing as normal. xxxx
Give them a Uk address if possible xxxx
As of now Santander (UK not the Spanish bank) Lloyds and Nationwide are happy with a Spanish address. HSBC will also let you have a Spanish address if you can open an account with them, I had to give up, it was ridiculously difficult to complete the process on line. xxxx
I’m with Lloyds and still get new cards not having a problem don’t have a UK address just a Spanish one money going in monthly. xxxx
