Hola,
I have just had notification that as from 1st May 2022, UK driving licences are NO LONGER VALID if you have been resident for more than 6 months

but but... have Spain forgoten they need immigrants from 'little England'? and its outrageous UK will swap Spanish licenses!!!

Hola Steve,
I firmly believe that Spain (unlike Portugal) have taken the opportunity that Brexit allows, to "get rid" of poor pensioners that don't add to the economy, and to try to attract the wealthier people that will spend more money.
I believe that the Benidorm caravans / mobile homes have made the government think and while they want holidaymakers spending loads of money in a short space of time, the average pensioner spends a similar amount in a year so is unwanted.
Portugal is doing what it can to attract the British whereas, I believe Spain is trying to stop them - we shall see

Think your right Dave as the 'Bargain Brits' have given everyone a bad name! Shame those same people voted to make it possible with Brexit, but the consequence of their vote does mean only the well off will have the chance to retire here.
The lack off 'new blood' will mean even popular places will lose brit bars and restaurants making them less comfortable and attractive to retiries, already Spain has new laws to try and limit alcohol to those on all inclusive holidays.
A Brexit win for Spain I guess!
