I can only say I had a rotten experience with UniCaja in Chiclana and so I would not recommend them. Since then I have been happy with Christian at Sabadell in Chiclana. He speaks English and is very helpful.

Thank you for responding perthmargaret. I looked at Sabadell and while they are quite good for residents, their non resident charges are comparatively high. I bank with Santandar in UK but am aware its not the same company in Spain. Although they have similar offers and deals which are currently better than the UK. Of course, it may turn out that their 123 account is not available to non residents, I need to check in branch as the website is not clear.

Free banking with sabadell if you deposit 700 euros each month.

Free banking with sabadell if you deposit 700 euros each month. Hola For NON residents? Davexf Yes - we live in the UK and were paying quarterly charges until they contacted us to recommend their " cuenta expansion account " As long as you pay in 700 euros each month banking is free.

Clearly they didn't like my face then, as they said I could not open that account as a non resident! If you are who I think you are Markj, you are a resident surely?
I'm now looking at the online account with BBVA....
